Holiday Gift List For People In Recovery

Can you imagine being the person tasked with buying a gift for someone who doesn't drink, in a world that revolves around drinking?

People bring a bottle of wine for dinner, co-workers buy one another, or the boss, a bottle of their favorite booze as a token of their "love" and "respect" 🤔

There are boxes of yummy chocolate candy filled with your favorite sweet liqueurs, champagne flavored gummy bears and liquor infused ice cream. Only for those 21 and over, of course.

There is no way to escape the drunken culture we live in. Some stores serve wine while you shop, your favorite coffee shop is offering a few wine and beer selections and, WTF?!? My gym is even serving beer now 🤦‍♀️

As the rest of the world swirls down to the worm in the bottom of the bottle, some of us just want to enjoy our alcohol-free lives and still get good gifts we deserve and appreciate.

I'll be the first to tell you about my collection of leather-bound blank journals, candles, and essential oils that I have gotten over the years as people scratch their heads in bewilderment as to what to get for someone who doesn't drink.

Don't forget we are whole people, too. With many interests and hobbies and things that excite us- beyond alcohol!

This is a list of a few of my favorite things. Some will cater to those in a 12-Step program and some will not.

A few of my favorite things don't have anything to do with addiction or recovery, they are just really cool gifts!

And many of them are sure to make the sober person you love light up with joy at how thoughtful you are 😇 (you can thank me later).

Some of us are 'out & proud!', and others are more low-key. I have sober Christmas gifts to cover everyone!

Want to shout it from the rooftop? Got it!

Want to keep your sober vibes private? I've got that, too.

Recovery gifts for boys, for girls, public and private- no matter how you do recovery, I've got recovery gifts for you!

A great gift to do in pairs is to take a class together! You can Google classes in your city to see what's available and this is a ton of fun! A class is a great way to spend a date night or to connect with whoever you love.
